Technologies and services for the base of the pyramid: challenges and keys with which to maximise their social impact

A conference entitled “Technologies and services for the base of the pyramid: challenges and keys with which to maximise their social impact” took place in Madrid on November 6, 2014, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. This conference brought together people who work in this sphere, in order to analyse how to achieve maximum social impact when working with technologies and services for the base of the pyramid.

International benchmark organisations took part in the event, such as International Development Enterprises, GIZ, Coca-Cola Bottling Company and FrontlinesSMS. We were also accompanied by other national companies such as the Acciona Microenergy Foundation, Gas Natural Fenosa and the UPM Centre for Innovation in Technology for Human Development.

This conference was aimed at organisations and companies interested in understanding how to put into practice technological initiatives and services for the Base of the Pyramid: the private sector, large and small enterprises; governments and the public sector in general; development organisations and NGOs; and professionals within the development cooperation sector.
